Alkagesta specializes in trading a full range of Petroleum Products and Fertilizers.

Additionally, we handle Petrochemicals and Agricultural Commodities, often on a spot basis by leveraging market opportunities. Our expertise in physical and paper markets, accompanied by well- managed logistics, enables Alkagesta to meet the world’s growing demand for commodities safely and responsively and serve our counterparties around the globe.

Currently, we are looking for a Junior Operations Specialist for work from our office in Sarıyer,İstanbul.

What role will you play within our team:

– Coordinating operations continue as soon as the trading deal and chartering are confirmed by the Trader/Charterer.

– Ensuring that the entire process aligns with the company’s practices, rules, compliance, finance, and risk policies is an ongoing responsibility.

– Serving as the primary contact with other parties, including Suppliers/Clients, and being responsible for controlling the entire process. This involves maintaining communication between all parties, adhering to Trading Ops ethics, and following best practices.

– Responding to customer requests in a timely and professional manner and escalating issues when necessary is a continuous task.

– Managing vessels/barge scheduling, maintaining contact with terminals, overseeing inventory control, scheduling in/out movements, and reporting to Finance, Account, and Risk is an ongoing responsibility.

– Managing all operational costs related to the deal is continuous, with a focus on minimizing and mitigating them to protect the book’s Profit and Loss (PnL). This involves avoiding extra costs and respecting the timing and commercial contractual clauses agreed upon by all parties.

– Managing all relevant operational documents and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of

company products, services, and policies are continuous tasks.

– Implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness is an ongoing effort.

 

– Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations remain a continuous responsibility.

– Preparing and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operational activity is part of the ongoing duties.

– Handling sensitive information discreetly and in accordance with company policy is a continuous practice.

– Serving as a backup for other team members as needed is an ongoing commitment.

– Performing other duties as assigned is part of the dynamic nature of the role.

Who are we looking for?

– Bachelor and/or master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

(Oil & Gas / Commodity Trading / Shipping / Chartering).

– ERP / CRM working experience.

– Proficient in MS Office including Excel (intermediate to advanced).

– Strong working and business communication knowledge of English.

– Excellent quantitative/qualitative/logical analysis skills.

– Good communication/presentation / interpersonal skills.

– Ability to work in diverse cultures.

– Adaptability to demanding work schedules.
